HASA, the Harwich Area Sailing Association, is one of the 12 Local Sailing Associations in the RYA EAST Region, and has a membership of 25 RYA Affiliated Clubs in Suffolk and North Essex.


The aims of HASA are to support member clubs and represent their concerns and interests to RYA EAST.
RYA East Region

In the RYA East Region there are 160 Affiliated clubs and training centres and over 12,000 RYA personal members.
Representatives from each of the local associations make up the regional committee of RYA EAST, as well as the Regional Development Officer, other part-time RYA staff and special advisors on planning and the environment. There is also representation for the training centres and personal members.
RYA East organises an annual conference for Affiliated Clubs and a Cruising Conference for RYA personal members.
The executive committee of HASA is made up of representatives of clubs from Lowestoft to Walton-on-Naze. Who
- meet three or four times annually to discuss and review issues ahead of RYA East meetings
- produce seasonal newsletters which are sent to every member club for distribution to their members
- organise an annual dinner at the AGM where club commodores or other representatives can meet and discuss local events and concern
